Husbands And Wives is Woody Allens biting exploration of the time-tested institution of marriage and all the heavy baggage that comes along with it.
Allen joins Mia Farrow as a long-married couple whose own relationship starts to crumble when their best friends, played by Sydney Pollack and Judy Davis, announce they are separating. Coupling up with younger, sexier paramours, each begins to relive and enjoy the pleasures of fresh passion. But smouldering resentments and unexpected jealousies soon rise to the surface, making way for scenes of savage humour and hilariously unpredictable reunions.
