SYNOPSIS:
|
In 1992, The Lawnmower Man was hailed as a CGI breakthrough, remembered and appreciated for its visuals, which undoubtedly advanced the arcade and home computer game industry. Here audiences were first introduced to Jobe, the sweet man with a mental deficiency who becomes a genius and a monster through the progress of virtual reality treatment. The sequel to this box office hit, Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace, takes virtual reality to a stunning new level when four teenagers and a scientist become locked in a power struggle with Jobe in an attempt to prevent the world from plunging into eternal chaos. LM: Jobe Smith is The Lawnmower Man an adult with uncanny gardening skills but the mental capacity of a child. When scientist Dr. Lawrence Angelo helps Jobe attain advanced intelligence through virtual reality and a newly developed drug, the results are rapid, astonishing and change Jobes life forever; before long, the mutant powers transform him from his former sweet self into a hate-filled monster, with an insatiable appetite for world domination. LM2: Burned beyond recognition in a laboratory explosion, Jobe is rehabilitated through virtual reality by Dr. Cori Platt. When he is enlisted to build the Chiron chip, the Einstein of virtual reality which can control everything that passes through the Information Super Highway, Jobe seizes the opportunity for ultimate revenge: to erase the worlds networks and programmes and replace them with himself.
